Monday

As is often the case, the week kicks off with competitive evening action at Windsor starting at 5.45. The next leg of the track's sprint series is the feature race on the card (7.45) with Ice Age bidding for a fifth course win.

Pontefract stages a conditions event named in memory of the brilliant juvenile Spindrifter (2.30), with Mark Johnston seeking his fourth win in six years with Monoski.

Racing on Monday also comes from Wolverhampton and Catterick.

Tuesday

Hamilton's Almada Mile Handicap (4.15) is the feature event on Tuesday's card with a field of eight declared. Tim Easterby trained the runner-up 12 months ago and he has two chances this year, headed by course-and-distance winner Brother McGonagall.

Brighton and Chepstow also host Flat fixtures, while Stratford provides jumps fans with something to look forward to in the evening.

Wednesday

There are six meetings across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, including at Kempton where the two novice races for fillies have unearthed subsequent Group winners Pilaster, Billesdon Brook and Urban Fox in recent seasons.

Promissory, out of Group 1-winning dam Seal Of Approval, is a particularly interesting entry in the 1m4f contest this year (6.50).

In the afternoon, Musselburgh and Thirsk stage Flat action with Worcester hosting a jumps card. Kempton is joined by Bath and Bellewstown in the evening.

Thursday

The pick of Thursday's racing comes from Tipperary with quality action over both codes. The Grade 3 Grimes Hurdle (7.50) has attracted some big names including Band Of Outlaws, Thomas Hobson and Yorkhill.

Newbury and Epsom stage interesting evening cards, with the afternoon action coming from Haydock, Perth, Yarmouth and Bellewstown.

Friday

Sandown's popular two-day Eclipse meeting starts on Friday with two Listed prizes up for grabs.

Subsequent top-level winners Havana Grey and The Last Lion have taken the Dragon Stakes (2.20) in the last few years. Established performers Elarqam, Royal Line and Chief Ironside could contest the Gala Stakes over 1m2f (3.25).

Fixtures at Newton Abbot, Doncaster, Chelmsford, Haydock, Beverley, Bellewstown and Wexford ensure there is plenty of quantity in addition to the quality on show.

Saturday

The Group 1 Coral-Eclipse is one of the great summer races of the season, with the older middle-distance horses taking on the Classic generation in this famous 1m2f contest.

The race could signal the return of the exceptional Enable, the back-to-back Arc winner who could take on Prince Of Wales's Stakes one-two Crystal Ocean and Magical. Circus Maximus, Too Darn Hot and Phoenix Of Spain are other potential runners.

Also on the card is the Group 3 Coral Charge (1.50), the Listed Distaff (3.00) and Marathon (4.45), while at Haydock the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks (2.40) is the feature event.

Sunday

Sunday's action comes from Ayr and Market Rasen, with the latter hosting a competitive Class 2 handicap hurdle. Limerick is responsible for the Irish fare.
