What you need to know to start your day including going from all the tracks
Monday has rolled around again but there's no need to be miserable. Following a weekend that included Classic clues aplenty and Group 1 action in France, we stand on the brink of the always excellent Betfred Ebor festival at York.
Before Wednesday, there is plenty to get stuck into today, with Flat racing from Lingfield and Thirsk, plus Windsor this evening. Jump fans are catered for too, with seven races from Hexham, one of Britain's most picturesque courses.
Lingfield - first race 2.00
Good (GoingStick 7.4 on Monday at 6.30am)
Thirsk - 2.15
Good (GoingStick 7.8 on Sunday at 12pm)
Roscommon - Abandoned
Hexham - 5.00
Good, good to firm in places (GoingStick reading not available)
Windsor - 5.20
Good to soft (GoingStick 6.3 on Monday at 7.45am)
Clear As A Bell (Thirsk 2.45)
13-2 (from 8)
This filly came up short in her hat-trick bid, but after two turf wins she was then fourth on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. She needs a career-best from a mark of 64 but could still be well treated.
Rebel Surge (Lingfield 4.00)
6-1 (from 9)
Back in handicap company, the four-year-old had been running consistently until coming up short in a Listed race last time. Richard Spencer has booked Jamie Spencer, who has a 25 per cent strike-rate for the yard (one from four) in the last five seasons.
Luv U Whatever (Thirsk 4.45)
9-1 (from 12)
A 12-race maiden on turf, the seven-year-old has not been disgraced on three starts for new trainer Marjorie Fife, and would be well handicapped if able to translate his all-weather form.
