Lazzat could be a class apart in Sprint Cup - but this 33-1 shot is overpriced with conditions coming right

Britain’s top sprints have never been so unpredictable. Both the King Charles III and King George Stakes went to handicappers, while the July Cup was landed by 66-1 chance No Half Measures. A Lazzat Sprint Cup victory would at least put a pause on the chaos.

The favourite is 5lb clear of his closest pursuer on BHA figures and is well positioned to deal another blow to British sprinting following Australian mare Asfoora’s Nunthorpe success. 

While the French superstar was beaten at odds of 1-2 in the Maurice de Gheest at Deauville last time, he still managed to brush aside the British challenge. That was the case in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot, too, when he edged out Japanese speedball Satono Reve.
