Salisbury's Upavon Fillies' Stakes pits Chain Of Daisies and Billesdon Bess, the last two winners of the Listed contest, against each other as part of an intriguing nine-runner field.

Chain Of Daisies, trained by Henry Candy, enters the race as the oldest horse in the race and also the highest rated, notwithstanding two below-par efforts at York and Ascot.

Her trainer said: "Her performance at Ascot was like everything else the yard was running at that stage. I don't quite think she's 100 per cent yet but she's working okay."

Billesdon Bess's trainer Richard Hannon was more optimistic about his filly's bid for a second victory in the race. He said: "She's in good form and we thought she ran well at Goodwood. She was a little unlucky and got a bit tight for room late on, so hopefully she can run well."

Promising run to continue for Bin Suroor?

Saeed Bin Suroor's string have been in fine form recently and the Godolphin trainer is hoping topweight Promising Run can continue in a similar vein at the Wiltshire track.

Bin Suroor said: "She's training well and she comes into the race in good form. Any rain wouldn't be a hindrance to her."

How much has Crystal Hope progressed?

The real unknown heading into the race is the ability of Sir Michael Stoute's Crystal Hope, who finished third behind future Irish and Belmont Oaks winners Sea Of Class and Athena at Newbury in May. The half-sister to Crystal Ocean will be having her first run since.

What they say

Clive Cox, trainer of Luire
I’m hoping the ground will be on the good side. She’s a filly we’re hoping – with a step in the right direction – we can have a nice autumn campaign with.

Charlie Fellowes, trainer of Mia Tesoro
She’s been a remarkable filly. I don’t think the surface at Newcastle suited her last time. Salisbury will really suit her, she will love the track and it's quick ground. It’s a competitive race, but one thing you can bet your house on is that my filly will turn up and put 120 per cent in.

Luca Cumani, trainer of Pleasant Surprise
She got a bit overexcited at York beforehand, which is unlike her. There was a thunderstorm going on and she got herself in a bit of a tizz. She should run a good race.

Roger Varian, trainer of Rasima
Rasima couldn’t pick up on the rain-softened ground at York and she will be much happier back on a quicker surface.

Roger Charlton, trainer of Savaanah
It's a big jump up in class and she's got a fair bit to find on ratings. There should be a lot of pace so we'll ride a patient race with her. If we can finish in the top three then I'll be delighted.
