'We trust Gary' - Clarence House entry a surprise for Editeur Du Gite owners

The addition of Editeur Du Gite to Saturday’s rescheduled Albert Bartlett Clarence House Chase (1.20) was a surprise to his owners but they fully back trainer Gary Moore's move and are dreaming of a shock result in a Cheltenham showdown billed as a head-to-head between Energumene and Edwardstone.

Steve Preston, who heads up the owners behind the nine-year-old, was also unaware of the exact £2,250 fee required to supplement the horse for the Grade 1, which was initially set for Ascot last Saturday before it was called off due to frozen ground

However, Preston does know what victory in the Clarence House is like. Sire De Grugy sported his Crystal Palace-themed silks when scoring in his epic 2013-14 campaign before going on to Champion Chase glory two months later.
