'We need to act immediately' - key details revealed of plan for Premier Racing

It's time for British racing to "act immediately" to stop the talent drain by introducing 93 'kite marked' Premier Flat fixtures, paid for by downgrading some 250 handicaps among other measures, according to details of the Savill Plan seen by the Racing Post.

The secret 20-page document also seeks to dismiss suggestions that the so-called Premier Racing plan is a breakaway in the style of the proposed European Super League in football.

The Racing Post has obtained a copy of the radical plan drafted by Peter Savill, successful owner and former chairman of the forerunner to the BHA, and which was sent out by the BHA to members of the racing industry workshop in time for the sport's recent two-day strategy meeting last month.
