Waterlogged Redcar forced to cancel Friday's eight-race card

Redcar's meeting on Friday has been cancelled because the track is waterlogged.
Officials at the venue inspected conditions on Thursday morning and were forced to make the decision with areas of the course waterlogged and unstable.
They were left like that after 13.5mm of rain on Sunday, which was followed by 10mm into Monday. Conditions got drier this week, but not enough for the eight races to go ahead.
Redcar, next due to race a week on Monday, is the second turf meeting to go on Friday as Haydock's card was lost last week. Windsor's meeting on Tuesday was also abandoned because for a waterlogged track.
No problems are forecast for Friday's jumps fixtures at Fakenham and Uttoxeter, while evening all-weather action comes from Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Dundalk.
