'William Buick is a big pointer to her chances' - which of the dual champion jockey's rides does our panel fancy?

Who wins the John of Gaunt Stakes (3.33 Haydock)?

Shelley Birkett, joint-trainer It looks like a very hot contest this year, but my selection would be Spycatcher, who always runs his race and has a decent draw in stall four on the round course.

Callum Helliwell, Sky Sports Racing presenter It's a tricky contest but I can't get away from the favourite Alyanaabi. He put up a really decent performance over course and distance last time out in the Spring Trophy. He's got plenty of ability and I'm hoping the gelding operation can put him on the path to consistent success. He has got a good low draw which suits the tight bend at Haydock. Volterra offers great each-way value, but he's been off the track for 238 days.

James Hill, tipster Alyanaabi bounced back to form when winning over course and distance last time. The gelding op seems to have worked and I wouldn’t put anyone off. It’s just he’s not been missed by the bookmakers, whereas there’s definitely some value in Volterra’s odds. Progressive in handicap company at three last season, it’s his first start back, but he goes well fresh and connections clearly think a bit of him – he holds Group 1 entries.
