'She'll have thrived with the warmer weather and this is a nice opportunity' - Lady Cecil joins our expert panel

Tipster

Can you see past Field Of Gold in the 2,000 Guineas (3.35 Newmarket)?

Lady Cecil, former trainer I’m with Field Of Gold, an imposing son of Kingman. Before the Craven you could see how much the race would bring him on and I wasn’t expecting him to do what he did. I know there are any amount of unknowns from those who haven’t run, but I’m looking forward to Kieran Shoemark doing it in the famous pink-and-green colours for the Gosdens.

Peter Donohoe, BoyleSports Although he certainly holds a favourite’s chance after his taking trial win, I’m not of the opinion that this is in the bag for Field Of Gold. I think you can build cases for any of the front six in the betting. Of those, Ruling Court has two impressive victories on his CV and what Expanded did last year by winning on his debut in October and then almost snatching the Dewhurst seven days later under totally different conditions was pretty impressive. It looks a Guineas with good depth and I think the form will hold up later in the year.

James Hill, tipster I hope Field Of Gold wins and will be disappointed if he doesn’t. He just looks the part. Yes, his Craven victory hasn’t left much juice in his price, but how could you not be impressed by that performance last month? The Gosdens would have left plenty to work on so I expect improvement, and providing he copes with the quicker ground, I think he’s got to take the beating.
