Ryan Moore was back in the saddle after a three-week time-out when getting an early call to ride work for his mentor on the Cambridge Road Polytrack. The former champion looked up for a an imminent return when sending the Goodwood scorer past his two companions and the duo may well remain intact for the Group 3 Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor on Saturday.

Moore was also in action at second lot on the Long Hill Polytrack, where Stoute sent a big team of two-year-olds as the Limekilns were still unusable with only 4mm of rain the previous day. Moore set sail for home on this son of Dubawi, owned by the Queen and named after a warship that saw action at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Last year's Royal Lodge winner looked to have moved forward from his recent return to action at Haydock when impressing on the Al Bahathri Polytrack at second lot. The son of Zoffany may well be in for a productive autumn as he prefers to get his toe in.
