Twiston-Davies back in a bumper at Bangor

Willy Twiston-Davies will return to the jumps weighing room on Thursday with one ride at Bangor, although he will not need to negotiate either hurdles or fences as he starts back in a bumper.

Twiston-Davies has been on a break from riding on the Flat since October and has decided to go back over jumps during the winter.

He has not gone jumping since the 2012-13 season when a 7lb conditional and has ridden eight jumps winners to date.

With his licence processed in time for the busy Christmas period, Twiston-Davies is looking forward to trying to add to that tally.

His first ride back is on Oh Michelle for father Nigel, and the jockey said on Wednesday: "It's nice, Sam [brother] is there so he's riding the other ones.

"Oh Michelle has run well in two races but seems to come off the bridle fairly early so will take plenty of shoving and that will blow away the cobwebs. Hopefully she'll run well."

With a glut of meetings on December 26, Twiston-Davies will have the chance for more rides, and he added: "I'm not sure where I'll be riding yet, I'll probably have one or two rides at Huntingdon, Market Rasen or Wetherby.

"I'll look to have a quiet week after that and then build up. I'm schooling and riding work every day so it seems silly not to go on the track and get paid for it. My Flat riding should stand me in good stead and I'm looking forward to getting back with the jump boys. I've had some nice messages saying they're looking forward to having me back."
