The unbeaten Nearooz will look to justify her ambitious Royal Ascot entry as the daughter of New Approach bids to complete a hat-trick at Nottingham (3.45).

The three-year-old scored at 20-1 on her debut at Newmarket before following up in convincing style at Wolverhampton – she has an entry in the Ribblesdale Stakes at the royal meeting but will have to excel in this 1m½f handicap if stepping up to Group level.

Trainer Roger Varian said: "She is two from two and rated 85 so we still have plenty to learn about her. It's her first run in a handicap, it's a small field but a competitive race so it will be interesting to see how she goes."

Layaleena, who made a fine impression when winning on her debut at Newmarket, looks to bounce back to form after three midfield efforts for the Sir Michael Stoute team, while John Gosden sends Duneflower to the handicap.

For Good might have his rivals' measure

You would have go to back to December 2015 to see a win for the Philip Hobbs-trained For Good Measure, but that drought could end at Huntingdon on Tuesday (8.10).

Since that Exeter win, he has raced 16 times, finishing in the first three on six occasions while switching between hurdling and chasing.

He was defeated by Tommy Silver in a match last time, but is back over hurdles, has conditions in his favour and runs off his lowest mark since that victorious day three-and-a-half years ago.

Hobbs said: "He stays well and should be suited by fast ground. He ran a good race last time and is back over hurdles, but is effective at both disciplines. This looks a nice opportunity."

Roy Rocket back at Brighton

The John Berry-trained brilliant grey Roy Rocket is back at his favoured Brighton looking to add a tenth course success in the 1m4f handicap (4.10).

He has finished fifth and fourth on his two visits to the southern venue this season, but is 2lb lower in the weights and won off a 3lb higher mark in August.

Step up in trip for Solomons

The Joseph Murphy-trained Solomons Seal, a three-length winner over a mile at Killarney a week ago, steps up in trip and has an 8lb hike in the ratings to overcome when he bids for a third win against nine rivals in the 1m2½f handicap at Sligo (7.30).

Gary Halpin, who rode the son of Zebedee to victory at Killarney, is again on board and Murphy, who trains the five-year-old for his friend Tom Egan, said: "Solomons Seal came out of his Killarney race very well and we're expecting another big run.

"He's got an extra two and a half furlongs to travel and although that is a question mark, the way he finished out the race at Killarney would suggest it shouldn't be a problem. He's gone up in the weights but I think he'll be very competitive and should be there or thereabouts."
