Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup the highlight on an action-packed day of racing

The biggest race of the day has already been run, with Cross Counter landing the $7.3 million Melbourne Cup, but there is still plenty of action to come, most notably the Bwin Haldon Gold Cup (2.05) at Exeter.

There are only five runners due to the relatively quick ground, but it is still a high-class affair featuring Grade 1 winners God's Own, Diego Du Charmil and San Benedeto. Fairyhouse provides the only other jumps action.

King Of Comedy, a son of Kingman who was an impressive winner on debut at Sandown, is an interesting runner (12.15) on the final card of the year at Redcar, while Wolverhampton and Kempton both host eight-race cards on the all-weather.

Away from the track the entries for the Unibet Elite Hurdle at Wincanton on Saturday will be belatedly revealed.
