Trainers identify their best chances for the resumption of racing on Monday
Racing is back with a bang as Newcastle stages a ten-race betting bonanza, kicking off at 1pm on Monday. Here trainers – and a jockey – identify their best chance of a winner.
Heath Charnock (3.20) has not been an easy horse and has had his issues. His best form is probably at Chelmsford around a bend but he likes the all-weather surfaces and it looks the right type of race. He certainly looks well.
We think Art Power (2.45) is really nice. He's in good form and all being well we're looking at the 5f handicap for three-year-olds at Royal Ascot. He's been training well and is an exciting prospect for the year.
There is not a lot between Ice Pyramid and December Second (5.05) to be honest. They have done the exact same work and I think everything about them is very similar. December Sound is three times the price and he could be the value.
I've some nice rides to look forward to all week and am especially looking forward to riding Frankly Darling (5.40). She was probably only beaten through greenness on her debut and hopefully we can knock her novice off at Newcastle.
