Simon Dow is aiming to put his lowest scoring season behind him by moving back into the Epsom yard he occupied for the first 25 years of his training career.

In what he admitted was "a bit of a humiliating U-turn" he is planning to return to Clear Height Stables, across the road from the home of the Derby, having sent out just four winners in 2016 from Thirty Acre Barn.

Dow's annus horribilis follows on the heels of his last season in his old premises which yielded 21 winners, his best tally since 2010.
