Zero Ten claims drama-packed Saturday feature after rivals crash out
A slick jumping performance from Zero Ten was enough to take Saturday's featuring Pierce Molony Memorial Novice Chase, as his key market rivals failed to finish in a dramatic finish.
The Emmet Mullins-trained winner looked to be going best of six in with a chance as they turned for home where Robbie Power and favourite Sizing Pottsie were narrowly in front before falling at the second-last, bringing down Dallas Des Pictons and Davy Russell.
As Zero Ten pressed on under David Mullins he was chased by the Willie Mullins-trained Cut The Mustard, before that rival fell on landing at the last allowing the leader to sprint home for a wide-margin success. Dunvegan finished second with Emily Moon in third.
Russell and Power were stood down for the day after coming down at the penultimate fence. Cut The Mustard's jockey Paul Townend also misses the rest of the day.
Winning trainer Emmet Mullins said: "He was a bit unlucky last day when he took a novicey fall, the tables were definitely turned today.
"He jumped straight and learned from his fall last day, even though I thought he put in his best round of jumping last day until he fell. He's still learning and so are we."
Zero Ten was a 3-1 chance, and was last seen finishing second behind Irish Arkle runner-up Cash Back at Naas in January.
