Despite 5mm of rain overnight, Gosden played it safe and sent his big guns up the Al Bahathri at second lot on Saturday morning, with last year's champion juvenile defying a headwind to blow away his lead horse Whitlock under Maisie Hainey. The son of Dubawi looks to have moved forward from his recent win at Deauville and will bid to give Gosden a second success in the Group 1 Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on July 31, five years after Kingman did the business.
