Tonight's racing: three runners who catch the eye at Newcastle and Fairyhouse
Monday evening's racing takes place at Newcastle, which hosts an eight-race card on the all-weather, and Fairyhouse, with Listed action featured at 5.15. Here are three horses tonote atthe two meetings.
The Iain Jardine-trained four-year-old is beginning to look well handicapped, having gone close off higher marks twice this season. He also finished runner-up to recent Stockholm Cup winner Thundering Blue off this mark last season.
He is reunited with leading apprentice Jamie Gormley and has finished first and third on his two previous starts on the all-weather.
The Ralph Beckett-trained juvenile took a big step forward to finishthird at Windsor on her second start, and the form ofthat race has already been boosted.
The winner, Dirty Rascal, won a Newbury nursery comfortably on Friday and the fourth, Astronaut, has shed his maiden tag at Sandown.
Wild Abandon may not need to take another step forward to win this race over six furlongs, but if she does she will be hard to beat.
This three-year-old son of Acclamation has been progressive this season and picked up three victories, most recently at Gowran Parkthis month.
That win came off the back of a more than respectable sixth in the Irish Cambridgeshire and, having been raised just 3lb for his latest success, it is quite feasible there is more to come.
