Tonight's racing: three runners to look out for at Newton Abbot and Yarmouth
Tonight's meetings come from Yarmouth and Newton Abbot, both of which are on ATR. Here are three runners it could pay to look out for . . .
As You Like
5.30 Newton Abbot
As You Like has delivered on his former promise this summer, as he was gambled on when he ran at Huntingdon on Boxing Day but then disappeared for five months.
He has since won two and was narrowly denied the hat-trick at this track last time.
He is only seven and hasjust six previous chase runs to his name, and he's bred tobe above average in this sphere.
This mare will be a good test of the rather anthropomorphic 'confidence' theory. She had a run of placed efforts to her name before winning novice events the last twice.
The first was against mares, the secondwasn't,and now she enters handicaps off a mark of 120 which, on the bare facts of what she's achieved, leaves no room for standing still.
There needs to be improvement from Passing Call, who now takes on the likes of old favourite Court Minstrel and last-time-out winner Red Tornado.
A convincing winner over 7fat the tracklast week, Topmeup bids to follow up under a penalty. She seems to have been benefited by the fitting of blinkers as opposed to the usual visor.
Thedaughter of Mayson has done all her winning on softer ground, but she only beaten a neck on good to firm last month, so conditions shouldn't be an excuse. The same goes for stamina, as she has shown her form plenty of times at a mile andbeyond.
