Tonight's racing: three runners that catch the eye at Newbury and Leopardstown

Racing takes place this evening at Newbury
1 of 1

This evening's action is headed by fixtures from Newbury and Leopardstown, with the latter hosting Group action. There's also racing at Doncaster and Limerick. Here are three runners to keep an eye on.

6.00 Leopardstown

Aidan O'Brien's juveniles usually improve for their first runs but this impeccably bred son of Sea The Starsis one who could run a decent race on his debut en route to better things. It is worth noting his sire finished fourth on debut before landing the Group 2 Beresford Stakes and he may be one tokeep an eye on for the future.

Legends Of War
6.10 Newbury

This son of Scat Daddy caught the eye on debut when running out an impressive four-length winner at Yarmouth. The John Gosden-trained runner missed the Coventry, won by stablemate Calyx, due to illness andcould only finisha slightly disappointing sixth in the July Stakes at Newmarket.

The colt can be forgiven that effort, considering it was only his second start, and astep back to a novice contest should see him return to winning ways.

8.10 Leopardstown

Jim Bolger's filly looked to relish the step up to 1m6f last time out when landing the Stanerra Stakes ahead of the Ballydoyle-trained Sizzling. The consistent three-year-old produced another decent effort in Pattern company when second behind King Edward VII third Giuseppe Garibaldi on her penultimate start and shouldn't be too far away in this Listed contest either.
