Tonight's action: three runners who catch the eye across the cards

Roy Rocket (right): attempting to win at Brighton for a seventh time
1 of 1

There is afeast of evening action with four meetings taking place in Britain and Ireland, all on At The Races. Brighton and Gowran host turf fixtures, all-weatherracing takes place at Wolverhampton, while Ballinrobeprovides the sole jumps fixture. Here are three to look out for.

Roy Rocket
7.50 Brighton

Brighton are racing so that must mean the return of Roy Rocket. The cult hero returns to his beloved seaside course bidding for a seventh victory at the track.

Second to the in-form Esspeegee on his last start under Rules, Roy Rocket has since runanother good race to fill the same berth undertransgender rider Victoria Smith in a charity race at Warwick last week, making up plenty of ground but coming up short.

Roy Rocket will once again be coming late in an attempt to capture this race for trainer John Berry, who also runs potential improver Sussex Girl earlier on the card (7.20).

A Sizing Network
8.00 Ballinrobe

After a double at the Curragh on Sunday, headlined by the brilliant Irish 1,000 Guineas success of Alpha Centauri, Jessica Harrington is aiming to snare another big prize in the form of the McHale Mayo National.

A Sizing Network, who carries the famous Sizing John colours of Ann & Alan Potts Ltd, represents Harrington in the highlight of the day at Ballinrobe.

Ridden by Robbie Power, A Sizing Network was seventh in the Killarney National on his most recent outing and will need to step up on his recent form. However, given Harrington’s skill with all sorts of horse, it would not be a huge surprise if he did.

Considered Opinion
8.40 Wolverhampton

Placing horses in races which give them the best chance of winning is an important skill for any trainer and Ralph Beckett looks to have been at his canniest with this filly.

Secondin a 0-95 handicap against the boys last time off the same mark, Considered Opinion drops into a 0-75 fillies’ handicap here with Beckett exploiting the clause which allows horses rated up to 2lb above the top mark to run in certain races.

Considered Opinion looks to have her rivals covered on form and has a good all-weather record. Should the mission be accomplished tonight, it will be interesting to see where Beckett goes next.
