Mark Tompkins believes Arena Racing Company failed to respect owners after refusing to compensate those left out of pocket by the late abandonment of a handicap at Yarmouth last week.

Tompkins was set to be represented in the card's finale only for it to be called off due to there being insufficient medical cover in place following the senior racecourse doctor's decision to accompany to hospital a rider who had a suspected broken ankle.

In a letter to the Racing Post Tompkins criticised the response of Arc, which last month was similarly rebuked when trainer Daniel Kubler bemoaned the decision to pay only £250 to connections of horses denied a run when a race was abandoned owing to a wet patch of ground.
