Tonight's racing: three runners who catch the eye
Some big-name tracks in action tonight with At The Racesshowing three races from Leopardstown,as Racing UK broadcasts the Epsom and Newbury's cards. Here are three runners to note.
Sue Magnier, who is charged with naming Coolmore's bluebloods, wouldn't waste one like this, would she? A daughter of Camelot from the Urban Sea family of Sea The Stars and Galileo, Goddess made her debut at the Curragh 13 days ago but met trouble in running and could not get involved. The betting suggests Aidan O'Brien's runner, who has an entry in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes, will take all the beating under Seamie Heffernan.
It's a long way from John Quinn's stable in North Yorkshire to Epsom– 257 miles– so he will be hoping Wotabreeze can help pay for the diesel. A winner at Ripon three starts ago, the five-year-old has been well beaten in his last two outings but was a solid second on his only appearance at Epsom a year ago. He can be hard to predict, but he comes from a yard going nicely, just like jockey David Probert, who rarely rides for Quinn.
It's a tenth start of the year for Harry Beau, who was supposed to run at Chelmsford last week but was derailed by travel problems. However, he gets his chance in the final race of the day in Britain and Ireland and looks a player, having bolted up by seven lengths on fast ground at Chepstow nine days ago. That came under promising apprentice Rossa Ryan, who again takes the ride for David Evans.
