Three winners in 50 minutes and now Mulvany is gunning for Galway Hurdle glory

Three winners in 50 minutes last Thursday evening have set up Michael Mulvany for his best-ever season and the 51-year-old, who has only ten horses in training, has his sights set on winning the Guinness Galway Hurdle with On The Go Again next month.
Mulvany sent out eight winners during 2017 but he has already soared past that total in 2018, moving to ten with another success at Roscommon on Monday.

Passing Trade's win in the 8.15 at Bellewstown on Thursday followed hot on the heels of Stormy Tale's success in the 7.25 at Tipperary and My Silver Nails' victory in the 7.40 at Bellewstown to give Mulvany a night he will never forget.
"It was a brilliant night, up there with the best of my career," he said. "To have the double at Bellewstown was particularly special as that place holds a special place in my heart. It couldn't have worked out better. It was wonderful.
"All the horses are in great form at the moment. We have only ten horses in proper training and to have three winners in one night is just brilliant.
"I work on a year-to-year basis – from January to December – so we've had ten winners this year. We had eight last year. I will be 52 in October and I've been training 12 years. Things are going well at the moment and let's hope it continues. We're only starting to get motoring now."
MULVANY'S HAPPY HOUR
7.25 Tipperary
Stormy Tale lands the Costello's Tavern Handicap under apprentice Ben Coen in emphatic fashion, storming clear of So Enjoy to score by three and a quarter lengths.

My Silver Nails, a daughter of Tough As Nails, is rewarded for her consistency in the Collierstown Fillies Handicap. Gary Carroll gives the filly a no-nonsense ride and she battles back to beat Nisior Donn by a length and a half. She supplemented that success with another at Roscommon on Monday evening.
8.15 Bellewstown
Passing Trade, narrowly denied on her previous start at Ballinrobe, gains compensation in the Lougher Stables Handicap under a perfectly judged ride from Gary Carroll, who swoops down the outside to get the better of Lady Godiva by half a length.
On The Go Again has already provided Mulvany with two of the biggest wins of his career after landing the Irish Lincoln at Naas in March and the Listed Heritage Stakes at Leopardstown in April, and the trainer now has Ireland's richest hurdle race in mind for his stable star.
"All roads are leading to the Galway Hurdle for On The Go Again," he said. "It has been the plan ever since he won the Lincoln.
"I can't wait to run him on nice ground over hurdles. I think you'll see a different horse when we do."
