Three runners to note tonight at Fontwell, Gowran and Wolverhampton
Chester's May meeting is the main course this afternoon, but if you need more racing this evening for dessert, then Fontwell, Gowran Park and Wolverhampton should sate your appetite. Here's three runners to note . . .
The feature on Gowran's card is the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Vintage Tipple Stakes, and favourite Bloomfield could be a staying filly to follow.
She has won two of her four starts (finishing runner-up on the other two occasions) and looked like she was going places when beating Glamorous Approach by four and a half lengths last time out. She should confirm the form this evening.
Chris Gordon is a trainer in form, with only one of his last seven runners finishing out of the first four, including two winners.
Ramore Will is chasing a hat-trick and while his victories at Plumpton and Kempton were achieved on slower ground, he has winning form on a quicker surface and might be able to handle a 10lb rise for his latest victory.
Not many of this field have much recent form to offer, but Ellen Gates delivered a career-best when second at Bath last time out and might be able to go one better here.
She is up 4lb for that effort, but has a favourable pitch in stall two.
