Three interesting runners who catch the eye at Kempton
Kempton provides the evening action and here are three runners to note on the eight-race card.
King Of Rooks
King Of Rooks was a seriously speedy juvenile. A comprehensive winner of the National Stakes at Sandown, he went on to finish third in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascotbeforecoming home second in the Molecomb at Glorious Goodwood.
Now aged six and with Henry Spiller, King Of Rooks has not won since that Listed victory at Sandown but he is downto a career-low mark of 56.
While Nicky Henderson's Verdana Blue is understandably the star attraction in the 1m4f novice stakes, the master of Seven Barrows also saddles capable four-year-old Twist.
Fifth of 11 in a Warwick bumper in November, Twist has been tried on the Flat since, finishing fourth at this track before winning at Lingfield. It will be fascinating to see if he canimprove again in this stronger race.
Caledonia Laird was a three-length winner at Wolverhampton last time and, with Georgia Dobie in the plate once again, he looks to have a sound chance at notching a first win at this course.
He has a 6lb higher mark to deal with but remains fairly treated based on the pick of his efforts from a couple of years ago.
