A frantic weekend of racing may be behind us but that does not mean there is nothing to look forward to this evening. Here we pick out three runners at Windsor and Wolverhampton it could pay to keep an eye on.

Desert Rain
6.40 Wolverhampton

Saeed bin Suroor's daughter of Invincible Spirit should be suited by this drop back to six furlongs and catches the eye in a first-time visor on her handicap debut. Hugo Palmer and Josephine Gordon team up with Samarmadi and that rival is respected, having won a traditionally strong Doncaster maiden on his only start but he could be vulnerable to a speedier rival in this sphere.

Dark Shot
7.20 Windsor

Andrew Balding's progressive four-year-old has been running well without reward so far this year but can get his head in front tonight. He showed with his remarkable late-closing second in the Investec Dash at Epsom that he has the raw speed to make five furlongs his optimum trip and should therefore relish this return to the minimum distance.

Classic Villager
8.20 Windsor

The five-year-old made his stable and seasonal debut when second at Chelmsford last month in a first-time hood. He bumped into a well-handicapped rival that day but the run suggested a first win in a couple of years might not be too far away. He won off a 3lb higher mark than this back then and with the hood retained and Adam Kirby in the saddle, a chance is taken that tonight could be the night.
