Why is it interesting?

Excitement continues to build on the eve of Royal Ascot but Windsor provides entertainment to sustain your anticipation for five great days at the royal meeting.

This Class 3 sprint may not feature the likes of Blue Point or Battaash but picking out the winner from ten runners could boost your punting balance for the week ahead.

It is a competitive race with the Ed Walker-trained Molls Memory one of two coming into the race having won last time. She scored impressively at Ascot but faces a 6lb rise in the weights. Equitation was a course-and-distance winner last time.

Many rivals hold strong chances including Diamond Dougal, a winner here in April, while Danzan and Gulliver look to build on placed efforts last time. Dominus has been progressive until unseating David Egan at the start last time out.

It would be some story if the admirable Maarek could score at the age of 12 but he has not won since 2017.

What do the stats say?

Ed Walker has won with six of the 17 horses aged four and older he has run at Windsor in the last five seasons. He saddles Molls Memory.

Oisin Murphy has ridden 19 winners from 71 rides in the last two weeks, with a 27 per cent strike-rate, and he rides Danzan for Andrew Balding.

What do the trainers say?

David O'Meara, trainer of Gulliver
I'm not sure how he'll handle the slower ground as it's pretty soft down there but he's in good form and he ran well last time. The track will suit him as well.

Mick Channon, trainer of Diamond Dougal
He's in good form and seems a consistent horse so we are hopeful of a good run. He's won at Windsor this year so as long as he gets soft ground he should run a good race.

Tony Carroll, trainer of Doc Sportello
He's a nice horse but he's been a bit disappointing. His all-weather form doesn't match his grass form and I struggle to understand why. I'm waiting for him to pop up somewhere on the grass, whether that's here I don't know but I'm sure he will at some point. He looks very well and we are pleased with him at home.

What do the tipsters say?

There may well be more to come from Molls Memory (nap) and she's taken to follow up her Ascot success. Likely dangers include Equitation and Danzan, who finished first and second in a similar event here four weeks ago. The unexposed 3yo Dominus also needs a mention.
