Killarney has come under scrutiny from stable staff who are threatening to take action this week unless improvements to facilities and food are made at the venue.

The Racing Post has learned of discontent among stable staff over the way they say they have been treated at the picturesque County Kerry course.

The track's five-day July festival kicks off on Monday with a seven-race card but the pressure is on officials to ensure there is not a repeat of what greeted stable staff in May. If not, they are willing to take action.
