The Lowdown: going updates, racecards, news and tips for Monday's racing
- NOT IMPRESSED: Trainer Jamie Osborne has criticised a National Association of Racing Staff (Nars) quiz for trivialising serious allegations, while a stable staff chief has defended its publication.
- STAR NOVICE: Envoi Allen recorded back-to-back top-level wins at Naas on Sunday with Gordon Elliott favouring a crack at a novice hurdle rather than the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
- INTRIGUING EVENT: The talented Dashel Drasher landed the 2m3½f novice hurdle at Chepstow last year and the Ben Pauling-trained King Erik (2.55) is an interesting runner on his hurdling debut after finishing a promising fifth in a Warwick bumper in May.
- EVENING FEATURE: The four runners in the 1m1½f Betway Conditions Stakes (7.15) at Wolverhampton boast three-figure official ratings with Pivoine the one to beat if running to his mark of 109.
Ayr (first race: 1.05)
The feature 2m handicap hurdle (3.15) has attracted seven runners with Richard Johnson teaming up with Gordon Elliott aboard Ocean Voyage. Calix Delafayette is an intriguing runner but has to defy a 607-day layoff. Read the race preview here.
