Thady Gosden will represent a Newmarket Racing XI in their cricket match against Newmarket CC on the Severals on Sunday, but his attention turned to the Cambridge Road Polytrack on Saturday as Emily Upjohn opened the batting for the Clarehaven team at 5.50am.
Led by the progressive Darlectable You (Kieran O’Neill), herself a one-time Classic fancy, Robert Havlin partnered the Oaks runner-up for a smooth seven-furlong exercise. The daughter of Sea The Stars is to sport the colours of her new part-owners Watership Down Stud in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh on July 16.
