Hats off to Hayley Turner, who has rightly been getting plenty of attention over the past couple of weeks after ending the interminable wait for a second female jockey to ride a winner at Royal Ascot.

That success, of course, came aboard Thanks Be in the Sandringham Stakes, leaving the owners of the other 26 runners unable to celebrate their own slice of success at the famed royal meeting

Chief among those defeated who would have loved to be toasting victory was the Queen, but her well-backed, and well-fancied, favourite Magnetic Charm could manage only second, meaning her wait for another Royal Ascot winner drags on into next year.
