Roger Teal's stable star Tip Two Win, who had been in contention for a trip to the Breeders' Cup, will sign off from 2017 on foreign shores when he contests the Al Rayyan Stakes on the first night of Qatar's two-day Derby meeting.

Mark Johnston was out of luck with Masham Star in the race 12 months ago, but Teal, who trains in Great Shefford which is not far from Lambourn, is optimistic of a decent show.

Anne Cowley's juvenile, who will be ridden by David Probert, faces 12 rivals, including Berkeley Square, placed at Group level when with Aidan O'Brien but now with local trainer Hadi Nasser Rashid Al Ramzani, and Harry Bentley's mount Anima Rock.

Teal said on Thursday: "He's travelled over well and had a feel of the track with David yesterday so we're happy with the preparation. We primed him for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, but he just missed the cut and hopefully we can make amends here.

"The home team looks quite strong with a horse formerly with Aidan O'Brien who has finished third in a Group 2. The fast ground will be fine and our only worry is that it's a tight course and all his racing has been done on a straight track. As long as he can handle going round a bend for the first time he should run a big race."

A winner of the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes at Doncaster in September, Tip Two Win was last seen finishing second in that month's Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket.
