Seamie Heffernan says Caravaggio has always felt special and he cannot wait to get back on the unbeaten juvenile in the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

Heffernan was the first rider to experience riding Carvaggio in public, guiding him to a smooth success in a 5f maiden at Dundalk back in April, and he will cover for the sidelined Ryan Moore on Sunday.

"Caravaggio has never once disappointed us at home or on the track," Heffernan told the Racing Post on Friday. "I feel very lucky to be even considered to ride a horse like him in a Group 1. I'm in a very privileged position to be deputising for Ryan and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm very lucky to be in this position."
