Stoute to discuss options for Crystal Ocean after 'solid run' behind Enable
There was always going to be one defeated party following the box-office bonus of Enable's meeting with Crystal Ocean in the 188Bet September Stakes at Kempton on Saturday.
But Sir Michael Stoute was in upbeat mood on Sunday as he reflected on a "good, solid run" from Crystal Ocean, who was beaten three and a half lengths in a first competitive start on Polytrack, conceding a 5lb Group 2 penalty in addition to the sex allowance to Enable.
Bookmakers reacted to the first sighting of Enable since her imperious Arc victory by cutting her into clear favouritism for this year's race, with Coral halving her price from 4-1 into 2-1, while Crystal Ocean was pushed out from 8-1 to 10-1 by the same firm.
