Staying chasers to the fore as Warwick's Classic Chase takes centre stage
Monday
Two jumps meetings kick off the week in Britain with a feature 2m3f handicap hurdle (3.00) at Taunton, where the promising Lady Adare puts her unbeaten record on the line on her first try in handicap company.
At Ayr, in-form Ryan Mania will bid to enhance his staggering 40 per cent strike-rate in the last two weeks with one ride aboard topweight Kilbrainy in the 2m handicap hurdle (3.20).
The day's other fixture is an evening meeting at Wolverhampton.
Tuesday
Bold Endeavour made a brilliant debut for Nicky Henderson when a ten-length winner at Leicester last month and bids for another victory in the 2m4½f novice handicap chase at Doncaster (1.50), in which he faces the classy Skytastic.
The Yorkshire track is one of two jumps meetings in Britain – Exeter stages a seven-race card – while Southwell's all-weather evening meeting completes the day's proceedings.
Wednesday
Cheltenham Festival runner-up Pink Legend will miss her first start of 2023 after Leicester's jumps card was cancelled due to waterlogging.
It leaves a full day of Flat racing in Britain and Ireland with just two all-weather cards. Capital Theory, who notched a hat-trick of wins in December, will bid to continue his winning streak at Lingfield (2.15), while evening action comes from Kempton.
Thursday
The vickers.bet North Yorkshire Grand National (2.50) at Catterick has attracted some classy stayers among its entries, including 2020 Coral Gold Cup winner Cloth Cap and The Galloping Bear, who was a leading fancy for the Welsh Grand National.
There are also jumps cards from Bangor and Clonmel, while there is a classy all-weather meeting at Newcastle, where Forest Of Dean, Harrovian and Fox Tal could clash in the 1m2f conditions race (1.50).
There is a seven-race all-weather card from Chelmsford in the evening.
Friday
Sceau Royal features among the roll of honour for the Chatteris Fen Juvenile Hurdle (3.00) at Huntingdon and this year's entries include Graded-placed Perseus Way and Kempton winner Samuel Spade.
There is a jumps card from Sedgefield and an all-weather meeting from Lingfield in the afternoon, before the evening action moves to Newcastle and Dundalk.
There is another all-weather championships fast-track qualifier on Newcastle's card over a mile (5.15), which has attracted six entries.
Saturday
Warwick's big meeting of the year is the standout fixture, with the Classic Chase (3.00) the feature race. It was won last year by the ill-fated Eclair Surf but produced a Cheltenham Festival winner in Corach Rambler.
The track's undercard includes two Grade 2s, the Hampton Court Novices' Chase (1.50) and Leamington Novices' Hurdle (2.25), as well as a Pertemps Final qualifier (3.35).
There is more Grade 2 action on Kempton's card with the Silviniaco Conti Chase (2.05), while the competitive Lanzarote Hurdle (2.40) takes place at the Sunbury track.
There is additional jumps action from Wetherby and Fairyhouse, which stages the Grade A Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase (2.12).
To complete Saturday's offerings, there is an all-weather fixture at Lingfield followed by Chelmsford in the evening.
Sunday
The best action of the day is in Ireland at Punchestown, where Supreme Novices' Hurdle clues could be unearthed in the Grade 2 Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle. The race was won last year by the high-class Dysart Dynamo.
In Britain, the action comes from Kelso and an all-weather meeting at Southwell.
