Slow start and wall of sand ruin hopes of fairytale

Jane Chapple-Hyam's final diary entry on her trip to South Korea with Solar Deity for first Korea Cup

We gave up counting after 100 the number of times Solar Deity coughed when he came back absolutely covered in sand having finished tenth following a slow start.

The sand was everywhere - it had even seeped through his pacifier and we had to bathe his eyes.

He missed the break badly so was at the back for the first furlong and then hunted up four or five places.
