Shops in England return to 'decent level of business' but it's quiet in Tier 3

Positives and negatives were drawn from the first day of betting shops being back open in England with the level of activity strongly impacted by which tier the units fell into.

Betting shops were able to open in all parts of England for the first time since November 5 after the national lockdown ended, but those in Tier 3 areas were only able to offer a limited service to punters.

This includes a maximum stay of 15 minutes in the shop and with patrons only able to visit two shops on any one day. Additionally, shops must not open later than 8pm and only two FOBTs are able to operate in the premises.
