The ITV4 cameras are at Thurles to broadcast five races live and the official going description has changed to yielding to soft (from soft), while in the 2.40 Need For Gold (8) is out and jockey Philip Enright now rides first reserve Hilltop Sunrise (17).

Sizing Pottsie, favourite for the feature Grade 3 Pierce Molony Memorial Novice Chase (3.10), has been trimmed into 7-4 (from 5-2) this morning.

In the final race broadcast on ITV4 at 3.40 a couple of the bigger-priced horses have been nibbled at – Crazyheart is 13-2 (from 9) and Goodnightgodbless has been trimmed into 8-1 (from 11).

Outside the ITV races, Myth Buster has shortened into 11-8 (from 2-1) (4.10) and Light Brigade is 7-4 (from 5-2) in the concluding bumper (4.40).

According to Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield, it is all about the market leaders as far as punters are concerned.

He said: "The favourites at Thurles are proving very popular through the card after six of the seven 'jollies' prevailed at Dundalk yesterday."

Track facts

For those unfamiliar with the course it is a right-handed, undulating track with a circuit measuring 1m2f. There is a climb into the back straight and a descent to the final bend.

There are no real surprises about the top trainers at the venue with Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott leading the way – Mullins has 53 winners from 159 runners (33 per cent strike-rate) over the last few seasons, while Elliott has sent out 45 winners from 218 runners at a strike-rate of 21 per cent over the same period.

A trainer who has been in terrific form at the course this season is Mouse Morris as he has sent out three winners from just eight runners. He is represented by Nero Rock (1.40) and L'intemporel (4.40)

The leading jockeys at the track since 2015 are Davy Russell with 23 winners and Paul Townend, who has partnered 19. Amateur Derek O'Connor also has a decent strike-rate of 24 per cent and he has just the one ride on the card – Cool Petra (4.40).
