She's been riding since she was six and has been working for local trainer Jimmy Moffatt for the last two years – now Charlotte Jones really gets the chance to sparkle.

The winning jockey in the only handicap hurdle of the season confined to women riders receives a £5,000 diamond necklace, courtesy of sponsors Banks Lyon Jewellers.

But that prize will not be a motivation for Jones, 22, as she is reunited with Lough Kent, on whom she's gained her two previous wins.

"Obviously every girl would like a necklace like that but I'm just there to ride the horse and I'm hoping for a good result," she said.

"I hope he runs a good race and if he finishes with his head in front that is just a bonus.

"We've started to gel, I've had five rides on him and the last two have been really good. I couldn't have asked for anything more from him and I hope he can maintain what he's been doing."

Moffatt has also booked Abbie McCain for Fiosrach while Rachael Blackmore bids to repeat last year's win on Baby Jake, whose trainer Shark Hanlon said: "He won well on the Flat last time and he won't mind cut in the ground; he's won on yielding in Ireland."

Bridget Andrews is on hat-trick-seeking Ravens Hill and trainer Dan Skelton said: "He got off the mark for me at Sedgefield and followed up at Uttoxeter. I'm not sure how he'll handle the ground but he should be competitive."

“He's on a roll and is hopefully not done with yet," the trainer said. "He'll have a tougher task as his mark has gone up 21lb since he won on his debut for me at Stratford two months ago, but I'm hopeful."

Charlotte Jones will be on top-weight Altruism, one of Jimmy Moffatt's three runners in a race that has attracted six last-time-out winners in a field of 11.

"Charlotte takes 10lb off Altruism and that puts him on to a mark of 123 and he's competitive off that," said Moffatt.

He added: "Boruma has course form and has won his last two. He doesn't mind cut in the ground and he should run a good race.

"Idder is off a low weight, we've saved him for Cartmel and tried to protect his mark a bit."
