Frankie Dettori switches to Chelmsford with Wissahickon ruled out

Frankie Dettori will reroute to Chelmsford on Saturday after Wissahickon – his only ride at Haydock – was declared a non-runner in the Rose of Lancaster Stakes on account of the ground.

Dettori, who has won a remarkable 12 Group 1s this season, started the day by riding Darley Yorkshire Oaks-bound Enable on the gallops and will head to Chelmsford for one ride.

"As Wissahickon does not run at Haydock, Frankie will switch to Chelmsford and the only one he's going to be riding there is Lady Lawyer in the 3.55," said the jockey's agent Ray Cochrane. "He was out riding Enable this morning and the mare is in great form."

The ground at Haydock was described as soft on Saturday following 27mm of rain since Thursday evening, with the forecast for blustery showers and winds of around 40mph.

Wissahickon, who won the Cambridgeshire on his last start on turf last September, has not run since finishing second to Matterhorn on all-weather finals day at Lingfield in April.
