Camlann 'absolutely bouncing' after Thursday win as he bids to add to haul

It's been quite the week for the Mee family at Ballybrit and their admirable servant Camlann will bid to make it two wins in three days in the McDonogh Capital Investments Handicap (4.10).

Shark Hanlon's seven-year-old is familiar with earning his keep at Galway each year, running twice at the 2015 festival, three times in 2016 and 2017, and now he returns under a 6lb penalty for his second start of the week – with a Sunday spin also possible.

The Billy Lee-ridden Galway specialist had to defy being drawn in stall 16 when scoring over this course and distance earlier this week and he again hasn't been blessed with an outstanding draw, starting from stall 12.

Hanlon said on Friday: "He was absolutely bouncing the morning after his win – he's come out of it very well. We haven't a good draw but I'd expect him to be there or thereabouts.

"He obviously loves it around there and is also declared for Sunday, but we'll get over tomorrow first."

Beau Satchel and Guanabara Bay (3.35)

Ado McGuinness is no stranger to success in the 7f Ardilaun Hotel Handicap (3.35) and he saddles two, including 2014 winner Beau Satchel, in a bid to record his third win in the 55-75 event.

He struck with 20-1 shot Bubbly Bellini last year and has trained the third home in the race on three occasions.

Galway-loving Beau Satchel, who makes his second appearance this week (drawn in stall one), is joined by Guanabara Bay (stall nine), a fast-finishing third here on Tuesday, from the McGuinness stable and the trainer said: "Beau Satchel is in great form but we have a slight concern about the ground for him. We're very hopeful for a rock-solid run from him though.

"Guanabara Bay was very unlucky to be left at the start on Tuesday before flying home. He should get away with the draw and hopefully can go well."

Advantage Point (5.20)

Trainer Eddie Harty enjoyed some of his most memorable moments with Cheltenham Festival winner Captain Cee Bee, and the sire of that horse, Germany, is also the sire of the Curragh trainer's Advantage Point, who makes his hurdling debut in the O'Leary Insurances Maiden Hurdle (5.20).

There was plenty to like about the bumper win of the Nora's Boys Partnership-owned five-year-old at Punchestown in June when clearing away from Batcio and Doctor Duffy, who was runner-up in a bumper here on Thursday.

Harty said of Advantage Point: "We were delighted with him at Punchestown when he won nicely. We're hoping he can jump well on his hurdles debut. It looks a competitive maiden but we hope he has a chance."
