Key betting news, non-runners and the going for day three

Gold Cup day at Royal Ascot is when the world takes closest notice of Britain's most famous Flat meeting. Racing purists might see more depth to Tuesday, but the fixture's most renowned race is today.

It is typical for Aidan O'Brien to dominate the Gold Cup and he seems to again with Order Of St George, last year's winner. But the horse has another recent fashion to overcome. The last horse to defend the Gold Cup successfully was Yeats, who won the last of his four eight years ago.

The supporting card contains plenty of Group races and hot handicaps. The Ribblesdale (3.40) lets those that missed the Oaks stake their claim and includes the regally bred Mori (Frankel-Midday). The Norfolk Stakes (2.30) pits together the fastest two-year-olds around, while the Hampton Court Stakes (3.05) often produces middle-distance stars of the near future.
