Rossa Ryan has given his version of the events that led to his weighing-room colleague John Egan being suspended for four days by stewards at Lingfield on Wednesday night following an altercation between the two jockeys.

The pair had ridden in the 7f nursery with Ryan on board Lexington Quest, who finished fourth, for his boss Richard Hannon and Egan on the sixth-placed Leave Em Alone, who is trained by David Evans.

The horses raced handily and appeared to come close together as Leave Em Alone jumped the path five furlongs out, before Lexington Quest crossed his rival as he pressed on.
