Revenge mission: Skelton has Edwardstone in his sights with Third Time Lucki
Britain's two leading Arkle contenders are set to clash at Warwick on Saturday after Dan Skelton gave the green light for Third Time Lucki to take on Edwardstone again in the Kingmaker Novices’ Chase.
Third Time Lucki was a well-beaten third behind Alan King's star novice, who is disputing Arkle favouritism with Blue Lord, when the pair met in the Henry VIII Novices' Chase at Sandown in December, but Skelton is keen to reoppose in the Grade 2 event and the seven-year-old will take his chance as long as the ground is not soft.
Skelton, who won the two-mile contest 12 months ago with Allmankind, said: “It’s a race I like and we want to have a go with Third Time Lucki. He'll run as long as it stays dry. Edwardstone is going to be hard to beat but I definitely think it’s worth us having a go again."
