Jumping may have held centre stage on this December Saturday, but thoughts here turned to next year's top Flat events after Without Parole followed in the footsteps of his great stable companion Enable by making a winning debut in a mile event on the Tapeta.

A colt by Frankel who is a half-brother to the Godolphin Mile and Breeders Cup Dirt Mile winner Tamarkuz, his reputation preceded him for he was sent off a well-supported 8-13 shot to beat two previous winners, despite his lack of experience.

Beat them he did, as he was settled in behind the leaders before quickening up in fine style to score unextended by six lengths for trainer John Gosden.
