Without Burlington keeps good form rolling for Amo Racing's new trainer Kevin Philippart de Foy

Without Burlington underlined just how much Kevin Philippart de Foy is thriving during the new phase of his career for Amo Racing.

The three-year-old did not run in the purple silks of the trainer's new principal owners, who enjoyed Group 1 success at the Curragh with Power Blue for trainer Adrian Murray on Saturday, but took Philippart de Foy's recent record to three winners from his last seven runners with a smooth performance in the 1m4f handicap under Danny Muscutt.

Without Burlington was held up in the four-runner contest but exerted his superiority in the home straight, quickening up swiftly to win by three and a half lengths as the well-backed 11-8 favourite. 

Muscutt, who dismounted the horse on track, told Sky Sports Racing: "He just took a false step as I pulled him up, so it was precautionary. 

"I'd have liked to have led on him but I couldn't really go early. He warmed into the race nicely from the three pole and stayed galloping well – he stays all day. He'd like to get his toe in on turf, hence why he hasn't run that much recently, and hopefully there'll be a few opportunities for him in the autumn."

Bowen brilliance

Sean Dylan Bowen deserved all the plaudits for a well-judged front-running ride aboard Marquis Pompeo in the 7f maiden. 

The jockey dictated the pace effectively and held on to score by a nose from the 10-11 favourite Polygram for trainer Charlie Johnston.
