There were shades of Might Bite at Cheltenham as Caid Du Lin went to have a look at what was going on in the stands when clear and looking certain to win.

The big difference to that now famous finish to Wednesday’s RSA Chase was that Caid Du Lin paid for his misadventure by losing.

Instead it was Cool Sky, matched at 270 on Betfair and third coming over the final flight, who surged through on the far side to take the 2m1f handicap hurdle.
