Wide-margin winner El Presente one for the future for in-form Kim Bailey

El Presente looks a summer horse to follow after getting his career back on track with a dominant display in the 3m handicap chase.

The Kim Bailey-trained seven-year-old, backed into 15-8 favourite from an overnight high of 4-1, finished fourth in a strong novice chase at Huntingdon last November, but had failed to complete in two subsequent starts.

Returning after a 141-day layoff having had wind surgery, the imposing El Presente routed his rivals by 17 lengths under David Bass to gain his first chase success at the fourth attempt.
