Samcro's fall two out in the Drinmore did not just deny us a grandstand finish with Fakir D'Oudairies but also left us with more questions than answers as to how high he can fly over fences this season. Three Racing Post experts assess whether the seven-year-old can deliver against the best this season.

Absolutely he can. He might not have jumped with the same slickness as Fakir D'Oudairies, but they are entirely different physical specimens, and you can forgive him for that.

At the time of his departure, Jack Kennedy thought he was still cantering and it certainly looked that way to me too. Don't forget he was giving 8lb to Fakir D'Oudairies and he will not have to do that were they to meet at Cheltenham.
